What is Series and Parallel Circuit?
It is quite common and easy to analyze a circuit with one battery and one load resistance. But, this type of simple circuit is not always found in practical applications. Typically, there are more than two components connected each other in various circuits. Before understanding the series and parallel circuit, we have to understand the basics of series and parallel connection. What is a Series Connection? When components are connected end to end in a string to form a single path which allows to flow current, then it is called Series Connection. In this type of connection, voltage gets dropped in each component, but the current remains same for all components. In this connections, R1, R2, R3 and R4 are resistors connected end to end in a string to form a single path which allows to flow current. What is a Parallel Connection? When components are connected across each other to form exactly two sets of electrically common points or nodes, then it is called Parallel Connection. I
